1 VACANCY
MARION COUNTY

This position will be the Regional Sanitarian for the Public Health Sanitation Preparedness Action Coalition Team (PHS PACT) Region assisting local health departments in assigned region(s).

This position conducts inspections at State Institutions related to the Food Establishment Rule and General Sanitation Rule. Conducts work related to the On-site Sewage Rule as assigned.

Responds to complaints related to public health violations and emergencies.

The Regional Sanitarian position works closely with public stakeholders, governmental agencies, and private sector industries to address public environmental health needs and provide regulatory and technical support.

Regional Sanitarian promotes public health awareness, attends professional development, and other training as required.

Qualifications

Training: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
AND
Experience: Four (4) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience as a sanitarian.
OR
Substitution: A Master's degree from an accredited college or university in public health, environmental science, chemistry, biology, physical science or agriculture may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.

Special Requirements: Must be licensed as a registered sanitarian by the West Virginia State Board of Sanitarians or be eligible to be licensed with the Board per the Reciprocity section of the Practice of Public Health Sanitation, W. Va. Code R. §20-4-4 et seq. Must possess a valid driver's license. Availability of an automobile for continuous use may be a requisite for employment.
