Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading the daily operations of the U.S.

Mint's sales team, including managing customer service, product distribution, retail sales, and partnerships with outside vendors to sell coins and collectibles.

You'll align sales efforts with the Mint's overall goals, track performance, and handle inventory for special numismatic items.

Key Requirements

  • One year of specialized experience at GS-14 level or equivalent, managing senior-level operations in large-scale consumer logistics or customer service in a retail setting

  • Ability to plan, develop, and execute strategies for customer service, product fulfillment, retail sales, order processing, bullion, and commemorative programs

Full Job Description

This position is located at the United States Mint in the Sales and Marketing Directorate in the Sales Division.

As a Sales Division Chief, you will be organizing and directing day-to-day operations of the United States Mint Sales Division function.

You must meet the following requirements within 14 days of the closing date of this announcement. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service.

One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-15 is one year of experience at the GS-14 level or equivalent in either public or private sectors, that is directly related to the position as listed in this announcement and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.

Specialized experience is defined as: Experience in managing competencies at the senior level management level in large scale consumer logistics and/or customer service functions in a consumer retail environment.

In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-15 you must have been at the GS-14 level for 52 weeks. Major Duties:

As a Sales Division Chief, you will: Ensure Sales & Marketing Directorate (SAM) activities are aligned with the United States Mint's Strategic Plan, Core Values, and vision direction of the Director of the United States Mint.

Plan, develop, and execute plans for the department's internal and outsourced customer service, product fulfillment, retail sales, order processing, bullion, commemorative programs, and international collaboration functions.

Propel progress on executing assigned United States Mint Annual Action Items (critical objectives) including but not limited to leading Project Teams to champion and ensure on-time execution of assigned Annual Action Items.

Monitor performance of all Sales Division support contractors including establishing/monitoring monthly/quarterly/annual performance metrics.

Responsible for merchandising/inventory management of numismatic products distributed by the outsourced fulfillment center; includes setting up, maintenance, and discontinuing numismatic product information and availability status in the Mint's order management system (OMS).
