Summary

This job is for a sales clerk at an arts and crafts center on a U.S.

Air Force base in Italy, where you'll help customers buy supplies, handle payments, and keep the store running smoothly, including evenings and weekends.

It's ideal for someone with retail or customer service experience who enjoys interacting with people and can work in a military community overseas. U.S.

or NATO citizens already stationed at the base would be a great fit due to the strict eligibility rules.

About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and is located at the Arts and Crafts Center.

This is a NAF (Non-Appropriated Fund) position assigned to the 31st Force Support Squadron at Aviano AB, Italy. Scheduled tour of duty will require evenings, weekends, and holiday work hours.

An applicant's eligibility will be determined based on eligibility claimed in the questionnaire and proof of eligibility MUST be provided with application by the closing date, 02/17/2026 The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is US Citizens or NATO country citizens with a valid US permanent resident card and Social Security Number.

In accordance with the Status of Forces agreement between Italy and the US, you must be at Aviano AB on orders and be a US citizen or citizen of a NATO country with a US permanent resident card.

Italian citizens may not apply for US NAF positions; however, may be eligible for local national positions on base. Must be able to provide documentation proving residence status overseas.

Legal US residents must possess a social security number and be citizens of a NATO country. The 31ST Force Support Squadron is not currently providing logistical support.

Applicants must provide proper documentation indicating they are already a supported member of Aviano AB.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: Must have responsible experience in clerical, office, cash handling or retail sales store work of any kind which demonstrates the ability to perform satisfactorily at the grade level of the position.

Experience must demonstrate knowledge of proper cash handling procedures, the ability to resolve common arithmetic problems used when receiving payment from customers, and the ability to operate a cash register.

Must possess skill in dealing with the public. Major Duties:

Performs over-the-counter selling of a variety of merchandise. Explains use of various products, answers questions concerning various aspects of products, and assists patrons.

Records sales, makes change, and wraps or bags merchandise. Prices merchandise according to pricing guides, replenishes stock as required, and assists with inventories.

Performs housekeeping duties in sales and storage areas. Performs other related duties as assigned.
