Full Job Description

You will serve as a SAFETY and OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH MANAGER in the SAFETY DIRECTOR, G-4 DIVISION of US MARINE CORPS FORCES, CENTRAL CMD.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Managing safety and occupational health laws, regulations, principles, theories, practices, and procedures to advise on or resolve technical matters dealing with occupational safety and health requirements, and overseeing high-hazard and high risk operations.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will perform mishap investigations, reporting and analysis to determine frequency and severity rates and to identify trends which provide an effective tool in driving mishap/injury control measures.
  • You will plan, develop, organize, administer, evaluate and coordinate a comprehensive safety and occupational health program for all Headquarters forces.
  • You will perform management evaluations, inspections, and surveys of all aspects of the equipment and operations for Marine Corps Forces Central Command (MARCENT).
  • You will conduct innovative analyses and extend accepted safety principles to develop and implement a comprehensive Safety and Occupational Health inspection and evaluation program.
  • You will establish composite budget requirements for (MARCENT) with recommendations on required inspection type equipment and track expenditures.
  • You will provide oversight of mishap investigations, risk management, safety inspections, and safety programs.
  • You will perform risk assessment of hazardous processes in garrison or during exercises aboard.
