The Department of Transportation is seeking a skilled candidate for the position of Roadway Programs Technician 1 within the District 2 Office Maintenance Unit.

This role encompasses several key responsibilities, including work with reimbursable activities and managing inventory usage reports and stockpile inventory.

Requirements

In this position, you will assist the District RAR coordinator and act as a backup for RAR-related responsibilities. This includes daily reviews of incoming police reports across all counties in District 2-0 to identify potential property damage. You will collaborate with the County RAR Coordinator to conduct a physical assessment of any reported damage within five business days of the incident notification. Additionally, you will be responsible for creating RAR-related notifications and work orders promptly, as well as documenting necessary repairs in the appropriate locations. Your duties will also involve locating, inspecting, and identifying property damage, such as guiderails and signs, along the District 2-0 Interstate Corridor and other areas as required.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time.

In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Clearfield. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

• Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $40,685 (before taxes).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year of experience as a Technical Assistant (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• One year of experience in analysis of data utilized in planning and scheduling of work, materials and equipment and graduation from high school or GED equivalent; or
• An Associate's Degree in a field of Business Administration, Computer Science, Highway Engineering Technology or other closely related program; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Other Requirements:

• This particular position requires possession of a valid Class C driver's license which is not under suspension.
