This job involves shopping for clothing, equipment, and supplies for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities at a residential center, while also providing hands-on care, transportation, and support to help them with daily activities.
A good fit would be someone compassionate and patient who enjoys helping others, has experience working with disabled individuals, and is comfortable with physical tasks like lifting and driving.

Provides direct hands-on individual care to all consumers as needed. Follows sound professional techniques according to BHDD-OIDD guidelines, rules and regulations.
Participates in training and provides guidance to consumers in the development of activities of daily living skills.
Ensures the health and safety of each consumer while assigned to a residential building.
May be required to stay over or work an additional shift to ensure proper staff levels are maintained to ensure the safety of consumers.
Transports and monitors consumers to off-campus appointments, programs and activities as needed. Provides support with direct hands-on individual as required.
Provides direct hands-on individual care to all consumers as needed, treats consumers with dignity and respect according to agency policy and procedures by providing choices, interacting in a positive non-demeaning way providing positive reinforcement and privacy.
Participates in training and provides guidance to consumers in the development of proper personal hygiene habits, clothing choices, etc. as needed.
