The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Division of State-Operated Specialty Care, Bureau of Independence Mental Health Institute (IMHI) is seeking a Resident Treatment Worker (RTW) to join our team!
This is a full-time position with opportunity for advancement, growth, and development and in addition to the base pay, there is an available shift differential of $0.90 per hour for second shift and$1.00 per hour for third shift.
The RTW provides direct care topatients as prescribed bytheIndividual Treatment Plan.This positionroutinely escorts patients toactivities off the wardas needed for meals, medical appointments, recreation, and other activities withintheinstitution.
Specialized dutiesandotherresponsibilitiescovering avariety ofpracticaltasksessential forthe operation oftheunittomaintain anefficient, clean, andsafeenvironmentforpatients andstaffmay beassigned aswell.
RTWs perform essential safety functions including, but notlimited to,being present onandobserving patient wards,monitoring thetone ofeach area toassist inmaintaining a calm andtherapeutic environment, identifying potential situations that need tobe addressed, utilizing de-escalation techniques asneeded, responding toandparticipating inemergencycodes, and conducting observation and/or security checks.
Thisposition isarolemodel forpatients sothe successful candidate should alsoexhibit goodskills inlanguage, behavior, attitude, andpersonalinteractions.

IMHI provides inpatient treatment and acute psychiatric services.
