Summary
This temporary job at the Iowa Veterans Home involves helping elderly veterans by escorting them to and from activity classes using wheelchairs, setting up classroom equipment, and supporting special events in the activity centers.
It's a part-time role with shifts on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from about 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., paying $12.76 per hour.

Full Job Description
This is a non-merit, temporary position. Candidates must follow the instructions in the "To Apply" section. Positions in this class are exempt from the screening and referral requirements of the Iowa Department of Administrative Services - Human Resources Enterprise.This is a non-merit temporary position with the Iowa Veterans Home. The hourly wage will be $12.76.
The Iowa Veterans Home is looking for a temporary Resident Aide to work in the Activity Centers.
Duties include:
- Escort residents to and from activity classes, pushing occupied adult sized wheelchairs.
- Assist in classrooms with projection preparation when not escorting.
-Assist Recreation staff with special events as needed and escort residents to and from events.
Hours are 8:45 a.m.-2:45 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.
