The Iowa Department of Administrative Services (DAS) – Central Services Enterprise (CSE) is seeking a Reproduction Equipment Operator 2 to support enterprise-level print operations for state agencies.

What You’ll Do
Enterprise Print Operations
  • Operate multiple high-speed, high-volume digital printers to fulfill on-demand and mainframe print requests, including warrant printing and Solimar-formatted jobs.
  • Transfer print files from network systems to printers, ensuring accuracy and completion per specifications.

  • Load correct paper stock and configure finishing settings according to print job requirements.

  • Monitor ongoing print jobs, identify and resolve mechanical issues (e.g., jams) as they occur.

  • Perform routine operator maintenance and coordinate with service technicians for equipment repairs.

  • Maintain required records such as impression counts and waste destruction logs.

  • Manage paper inventory and request supplies in a timely manner.

  • Obtain and maintain required print-related certifications (e.g., iGENS, IRS) as directed by DAS.

Print Delivery & Finishing
  • Operate high-volume inserters to fold and insert printed materials into envelopes.

  • Use folding, cutting, stitching, drilling, punching, laminating, and shrink-wrapping equipment to complete finishing tasks.

  • Conduct quality control checks to ensure all printed output meets customer specifications.

  • Deliver completed materials to customers when necessary.

  • Support Letter Shop and related operations as needed.


Administration & Collaboration
  • Follow all State, DAS, and team policies and procedures.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and team members through clear and professional communication.

  • Participate in team meetings, committees, and work groups to support continuous improvement.

  • Stay up to date with print technologies, vendor training, and DAS-provided development opportunities.

  • Cross-train and share knowledge with coworkers to ensure team-wide efficiency and consistency.

Schedule: This position will be required to work Monday - Friday.

Requirements

163 Print Operations
6 months’ experience in the display or printing of computerized reports.

Qualifications

Experience equal to two years of any combination of recognized training and full-time work in the operation and maintenance of offset and/or digital xerography reproduction equipment;
OR
employees with current continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes experience equal to eighteen months of full time work as a Reproduction Equipment Operator 1.
