Requirements

In this position, you will oversee the comprehensive care of residents and supervision of nursing care within designated areas during your assigned shift. You will provide general supervision, guidance, and support to all nursing staff, ensuring the effective implementation of health care activities, treatments, and medication management in compliance with facility accreditation standards. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and evaluating tasks; setting work priorities; conducting interviews; selecting staff; assessing employee performance; approving leave requests; managing disciplinary actions; identifying training needs; providing coaching and counseling; and resolving conflicts. Additionally, you will monitor residents' conditions, ensuring any changes are promptly communicated to the appropriate staff, and document daily care activities in the required forms and electronic medical records..

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40-hour work week
  • Work hours consist of evening shift, six 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM and supplemented by one 8-hour shift from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with work scheduled every other weekend. Each shift includes a 30-minute lunch break. Training will be conducted on the day shift.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years as a Registered Nurse (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Four years of professional nursing experience providing care and treatment services consistent with those needed for individuals with a mental or physical injury or illness and/or a developmental disability.


Special Requirements:

  • This position requires active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
  • If you possess an active temporary practice permit, you must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
