Job Description

Summary

This job involves helping manage infection prevention, patient care environments, water safety, and medical equipment in a psychiatric hospital serving adults and children.

The nurse also occasionally steps in for clinic and occupational health duties.

It's a great fit for a licensed registered nurse who enjoys focusing on safety and health protocols in a mental health setting.

Key Requirements

  • Possession of a diploma, associate's, bachelor's, or master's degree in nursing accepted for licensure by the Michigan Board of Nursing
  • Valid Michigan license in good standing as a registered nurse
  • Ability to assist with infection control, environment of care, water management, and equipment management programs
  • Experience or knowledge in patient clinic and occupational health nursing (as backup)
  • No felony convictions or pending felony charges
  • Subject to pre-employment, random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, return-to-duty, and follow-up drug and/or alcohol testing
  • Ability to work with adult and child/adolescent populations in a psychiatric hospital

This position assists the Infection Control Supervisor with Infection Control, Environment of Care, Water Management Programs and equipment management in the Hospital Clinic for both the Adult and Child/Adolescent populations. This position serves as an occasional backup for the Patient Clinic and Occupational Health Nurse.

The preferred and appointed candidate will be subject to pre-employment, random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, return-to-duty and follow-up drug and/or alcohol testing.
