Job Description

Summary

This job is for a registered nurse focused on keeping NSA employees healthy and safe at work, handling things like emergency care, vaccinations, health checkups, and advice on avoiding job-related risks.

It involves both hands-on nursing tasks and some management of health programs in a secure government setting.

Key Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Associate's degree plus 5 years of relevant occupational health or nursing experience (or higher degree with less experience)
  • For senior level: Associate's plus 8 years, Bachelor's plus 6 years, Master's plus 4 years, or Doctoral plus 2 years
  • Skills in emergency response, injury stabilization, and health counseling
  • Knowledge of occupational and environmental hazard protections
  • Experience providing immunizations, vision services, and travel health advice
  • Ability to perform technical, managerial, and administrative health services

Full Job Description

The Office of Occupational Health and Well-Being Services (OHWB) supports the mission by applying professional knowledge in Occupational Health, Environmental, Industrial Hygiene and Safety operating in accordance with all governing body regulations.

OHWB personnel provide clinical services, including emergency response, evaluations, immunizations, vision and well-being services.

Personnel will also provide technical, managerial, and administrative services to the workforce.

FULL PERFORMANCE Entry is with an Associate's degree plus 5 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree plus 1 year of relevant experience.

SENIOR Entry is with an Associate's degree plus 8 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree plus 6 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree plus 4 years of relevant experience, or a Doctoral degree plus 2 years of relevant experience.

Major Duties:

  • Perform, advise, and manage professional nursing and occupational health care services involving emergency care, stabilization of injuries/illnesses, health counseling, travel health services and protections from occupational and environmental hazards.
