Job Description

Summary

This is a part-time, non-benefits role as a registered nurse at Michigan's Veteran Homes, where you'll provide hands-on care to veterans, including giving medications, performing treatments, and assessing their health needs.

You'll also guide other staff like LPNs in daily tasks when full-time nurses are unavailable.

It's ideal for flexible, licensed nurses who want intermittent work in a supportive environment for military veterans.

Key Requirements

  • Possession of a diploma, associate's, bachelor's, or master's degree in nursing accepted for licensure by the Michigan Board of Nursing
  • Valid Michigan license in good standing as a registered nurse
  • Ability to provide direct patient care, including medication administration and treatments
  • Skills in conducting comprehensive health assessments and coordinating long-term care plans
  • Experience or ability to monitor and direct LPNs and caregivers in delegated nursing tasks
  • Availability for intermittent, non-career work limited to 129 hours per month and 1,040 hours per year
  • Compliance with random drug and alcohol testing as a test-designated position

This is a Non-Career position. Position is limited to 129 hours per calendar month and 1,040 hours per calendar year. This position is not eligible for benefits. This position is intended for intermittent use when a career Registered Nurse employee is unavailable.

Responsible for the direct care of members on one or more nursing units, including medication pass and treatments.
Conducts comprehensive assessments of members needs and coordinates the long-term planning of care for a specific
member case load. Monitors and directs LPNs and care givers in providing delegated nursing activities as needed.

This position is test-designated and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.

Requirements

Education
Possession of a diploma, associate's, bachelor's, or master's degree in nursing accepted for licensure by the Michigan Board of Nursing.

Experience
No specific type or amount is required.

Additional Information

Possession of a Michigan license in good standing as a registered nurse.
