Summary

Registered Nurses (RNs) at Tarrant County Juvenile Services provide professional nursing services in a unique, safe, and supportive environment with professional staff.

Requirements

1. Performs physical, emotional, and behavioral assessment of clients.
2. Counsels and teaches health maintenance promotion and disease prevention.
3. Administers immunizations and medications.
4. Performs case management services.
5. Performs screening tests, counsels, and refers as needed.
6. Performs blood tests and other lab procedures offered in clinic counsels and refers as needed.
7. Records appropriate information in client records for documentation purposes.
8. Performs all clinical tasks following established protocols.
9. Maintains medical records and communications in strictest confidence.
10. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

NOTE: YOU MUST FILL OUT THE WORK HISTORY and EDUCATION SECTIONS OF APPLICATION TO SHOW YOU HAVE YEARS OF EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION AS REQUIRED BY HIRING DEPARTMENT OR BE DISQUALIFIED.TO APPLY, must have a Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing.TO APPLY, must have Six (6) full-time months of related work experience.TO APPLY, must possess current RN license.

Note: A Texas license is required to hold the position.

MUST PROVIDE LICENSING AGENCY AND LICENSE NUMBER IN "CERTIFICATES AND LICENSING" SECTION OF THE APPLICATION OR BE DISQUALIFIED.

Good knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of field of specialty

Good oral and written communication/presentation skills.

Ability to make professional nursing decisions and operate autonomously under written protocol.

If hired, must provide proof of educational attainment
at New Hire Processing or during the promotional process.
Tarrant County will conduct background checks on new hires that will include a criminal background check related to convictions and deferred adjudications in the past seven years and may include credit reports, motor vehicle records, employment records and educational attainment. A conviction or deferred adjudication is not an automatic bar to employment. Each case is considered individually.
