Full Job Description

Public Health Seattle & King County’s Community Health Services (CHS) division is looking for a Register Nurse (RN) to join the float pool team. This position will serve patients at various programs in the CHS division, mainly primary care, refugee screenings, pathways clinic. The responsibilities include nursing assessments and interventions, patient care planning, evaluation and medical care coordination. The RN facilitates and assures daily clinic activities and operations. The RN maintains the clinic environment, coordinates the patient care team efforts, and directs efficient clinic flow. The RN delegates tasks to the health care team within the scope of practice to achieve desirable patient outcomes and efficient clinic functioning. The RN also carries out prescribed treatments, administers medications, and coordinates activities with other health care staff to ensure the orderly and safe provision of health care services.

Requirements


  • Conducts nursing assessments and interventions, patient care planning, evaluation, and medical care coordination.
  • Obtains and documents health history, chief complaint, vital signs, growth monitoring data, assessment data and developmental screening data.
  • Identifies individuals with risk factors and investigates possible associated disease conditions.
  • Provides prescribed treatments, administers prescribed medications, monitors and documents treatment progress and patient response.
  • Documents patient assessment and intervention data in medical records using established medical record forms and documentation practices.
  • Obtains and completes appropriate patient consent for care forms, ensures patient confidentiality, and maintains orderly medical records.
  • Follows established Public Health medical records policies and procedures and the State and Federal laws that govern the release of health care information.
  • Provides patient education to individuals and groups about health maintenance and management of acute and chronic conditions.
  • Establishes an interpersonal relationship with individuals or families intended to increase or enhance their capacity for self-care and coping.
  • Participates in Department emergency response trainings and drills; maintains home preparedness.
  • Participates as a member of a multidisciplinary team to facilitate teamwork, improve patient care processes and outcomes, and maintain an orderly work environment with efficient clinic flow.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


Requirements:

  • Washington State Registered Nurse License in good standing.
  • Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Washington State Drivers' License in good standing.
  • Current BLS-CPR for Healthcare Providers

Work Schedule: This is a 0.8 - 1.0 FTE, fully benefited, Career Service position that is required to be onsite for direct services and is overtime eligible. The typical schedule will work within Monday-Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. May work outside of the typical schedule to meet operational needs.

Work Location: This float position will cover programs located at Downtown Public Health Center and Eastgate Public Health Center. Employees must reside in Washington state and live within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite.

This posting will be used to fill all needs. Interviews for this opportunity will be February 17th & 18th.
