Assists in overseeing recreational and maintenance activities within one of the Department of Parks and Recreation’s five operational regions.
Positions in this class report to an Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation and support the overall management of regional park operations, including grounds maintenance, recreation programs, golf course operations, and coordination of construction and planning efforts.
Incumbents must have a strong knowledge of departmental objectives, policies, and operations to effectively assist in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating the work of an assigned region.

*Experience at the level of Los Angeles County's class of Regional Park Superintendent II is defined as having immediate responsibility for supervising the overall operations of large regional park.
Acceptable classes for Regional Park Superintendent II include, but are not limited to:
Regional Recreation Director
Superintendent, Bonelli Regional Park
**Experience as a Regional Grounds Maintenance Supervisor within the County of Los Angeles Department is defined as directs all grounds maintenance and custodial work in an agency of the Department of Parks and Recreation.
To qualify under Option II, applicants must have County status in this classification, as evidenced by holding or having held such a payroll title. NO OUT-OF-CLASS EXPERIENCE WILL BE ACCEPTED.
Acceptable classes for Administrative Services Manager II include, but are not limited to:
Human Resources Analyst IV
Program Specialist IV, CEO
Senior Staff Analyst, Health Services

This examination will consist of two (2) parts, weighted at 100%:
MULTIPLE-CHOICE AND/OR SIMULATION ASSESSMENT(S) ARE NOT REVIEWABLE BY CANDIDATES PER CIVIL SERVICE RULE 7.19.
Applicants must meet the Minimum Requirements and achieve 70% or higher on the combined score of Parts I and II in order to be placed on the eligible register.
If you recently took identical components for other exams, the test responses may be automatically transferred to this examination. This exam contains test components that might be used on future exams, and your responses could be transferred to that exam.
We provide study guides and other test preparation resources to help candidates prepare for employment tests. While the guides may help in preparing for the test, we recommend reviewing all related materials that seem necessary.
Candidates who passed the assessment are placed on a register in the order of their score group for a period of six (6) months. We will use this register to fill vacancies as they occur.
