This job involves overseeing traffic and safety operations for a region of Utah's highways, including reviewing public concerns, developing safety projects, analyzing crashes, and collaborating on planning and construction efforts.

Sets goals, establishes priorities, manages resources, develops concepts and approaches, reviews projects progress and results; makes management decisions.Oversees the development, evaluation or review of plans and criteria for a variety of activities; assesses feasibility of proposed plans, projects and equipment.Plans and manages projects and/or programs.
Writes (or discusses) project/program plan(s), recommendation(s) and/or finding(s).Supervises subordinate personnel including: hiring, determining workload and delegating assignments, training, monitoring and evaluating performance, and initiating corrective or disciplinary actions.Develops, directs, and/or evaluates programs.Coordinates and/or acts as a liaison between agency or work unit and other agencies, work units, organizations, suppliers, etc.Participates in the selection of consulting engineers, oversees and reviews their work product.
Additional Information Physical Requirements: Sedentary - Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work.
However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, books, small parts; driving an automobile, etc.
No special physical demands are required to perform the work.Working Conditions: Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.Employee may be reassigned to a different location as deemed necessary by the Region Director/Group Leader.
