The Opportunity
WSDOT is seeking a journey-level professional to support the delivery and sustainability of Capital Systems through business analysis, project management, and IT system implementation.
In this role, you will provide training and operational support to region program management, construction, and engineering staff related to Capital Systems tools.
You will independently manage multiple medium-impact business analysis efforts in support of WSDOT’s Capital Systems, partnering with senior IT Business Analysts on high-risk, division-wide, or agency-wide initiatives.
Serving as a Region Project Management Specialist and liaison between Headquarters Capital Program Development and Management (CPDM), Project Development, Construction, and regional engineering and program management offices, this role will focus on analyzing, documenting, and mapping transportation business processes in alignment with Business Analysis Book of Knowledge (BABOK) principles.
The Region Project Management Specialist also supports the planning, implementation, testing, and sustainability of IT products and project management systems used to design projects, administer construction contracts, and report on project, program, and enterprise-wide performance.
This work requires deep knowledge of transportation project delivery, design and construction business processes, departmental policies, and field inspection operations to ensure systems accurately support and reflect WSDOT’s statewide practices.
While headquarters-based, the scope of work is agency-wide and includes providing operational support, developing requirements documentation, and delivering structured and ad-hoc training to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
