This job involves installing, repairing, and maintaining refrigeration, air conditioning, heating, and related systems in Michigan state correctional facilities, often working alongside prisoner crews to ensure everything runs safely and efficiently.
The role includes training inmates on tasks, handling preventive maintenance, managing supplies, and following all safety and legal standards.
It's a hands-on position ideal for experienced mechanics who are comfortable in high-security environments, enjoy teaching others, and don't mind occasional travel.

Education
Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school.
Experience
Five years of experience in the refrigeration mechanic trade, including one year equivalent to a Refrigeration Mechanic E9.
