Experience in any type of work or training that demonstrates the ability to perform the work of the position.
General knowledge of sailing, boating operations, safety, equipment and maintenance or one year above high school level. Excellent ability as a swimmer.
Ability to use basic maintenance tools; ability to read and write. Prefer First Aid and CPR certified.
An equivalent combination of training and experience may be substituted for the qualifications above. Major Duties:
Provides customers with recreational activity assistance, including general information on the use of equipment, facilities, safety regulations and procedures, and safety/security checks.
Provides instruction on basic boat handling, motor start/stop, issues boats, safety equipment, assists with set up and start up, and ensures they are working properly.
May assist in maintaining routine reports and/or perform clerical, custodial and/or general maintenance duties as needed such as filling gas cans, and ensuring cleanliness of watercraft and work areas.
May operate a cash register, receive payments and make change. May operate the radio and loudspeaker in accordance with regulation. Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy.
Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise.
Adheres to safety regulations and standards.
Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.
Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.
This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance
