About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Fitness Center at Patrick SFB and Cape Canaveral.

This position requires shift work to provide coverage on days, evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Scheduled hours will be 0-40 per week, with no minimum guarantee.

Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing 50 pounds or more. Who May Apply: Open to everyone. Applicants will be categorized by preference(s) and/or priority consideration eligibilities.

An applicant's eligibility will be determined based on eligibility claimed in the questionnaire and proof of eligibility MUST be provided with application by the closing date, 04/08/2026 Business Based Action, Military Spouse Preference, Outside Applicant Veteran, Spouse/Widow/Parent of Veteran, and Transition Hiring Preference In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: Three months of specialized experience in developing, implementing fitness and sports programs. Must have computer skills to include Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint).

Must be able to communicate effectively to ensure mission requirements are met.

Must be able to be certified in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/ Automated External Defibrillators (AED) and Blood Bourne Pathogens with-in 30 days of hire.

If required to have a Lifeguard certification and/or Sports Certification, this will be paid for by FSVS.

Will be required to work an uncommon tour of duty on a rotational basis to include nights, weekends and holidays.

Must be able to pass a preemployment physical which will consist of being able to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to successfully complete a Tier 1, National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI). Major Duties:

Applicants will be reviewed and referred on the following dates: March 19, 2026, March 29, 2026, and closing on April 8, 2026. Announcement will close once position is filled.

Performs a variety of duties in support of the day to day operations in the military community to an authorized population as outlined in departmental or major command publications at the fitness centers located on Patrick SFB and Cape Canaveral.

Assists the Fitness and Sports Manager (FSM), the Fitness and Sports Operations Manager (FSOM), Sports Program Manager (SPM) in developing, organizing, and executing a variety of fitness center events, sports seasons, special events, 5K's, E-sports.

Will assist in completing field preparations for flag football, soccer/softball fields, sports field inspection checklists, sports officiating, set-up and tear down of fitness facilities.

May be required to perform lifeguard operational duties.

Will complete administrative actions such as updating sports scorecards, excel spreadsheets used to support programming and send emails electronically as required for distribution.

Prepares marketing requests for promoting programs and services related to fitness & sports center programming.

When assigned to the front desk, will be required to answer phones, take building reservations, conduct facility orientation tours, and issuance and return of sporting equipment.

Reports broken equipment and facility issues to the equipment repair team for action.

Will perform hourly room checks for the purpose of performing headcounts of patrons and reporting any safety issues to management.

Will perform opening and closing procedures to include checklists for any property owned by the fitness center.

Operates a point of sale (POS) for receiving payment for NAF contract services and prepare as required cashier reports for the (POS) operation.

Will clean fitness equipment to current standards as set-forth by the FSM/FSOM or commercial equipment source. Will perform any other assigned duties as necessary.
