Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team!

MCCS is a comprehensive program that supports and enhances the quality of life for Marines, their families, and others in the Marine Corps Community.

We offer a team oriented environment comprised of military personnel, civilian employees, contractors and volunteers who keep the organization functioning smoothly and effectively.

One to two years experience in a related recreational activity (fitness/athletics).

Must be certified as a personal fitness trainer from one of the following approved accrediting organizations: American College of Sports Medicine, Coopers Institute of Aerobic Research, American Council of Exercise, National Strength and Conditioning Association, and Aerobic and Fitness Association of America.

Incumbents must possess current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification. Knowledge of exercise physiology, training, and safety principles are required.

Training in Basic First Aid and certification is required but may be obtained after employment. Major Duties:

Incumbent is assigned to one or more specialized recreational activities such as the Fitness Centers, Athletics, and/or Gymnasiums. Performs and/or assists in the operation of the recreation activity.

Based on established policies, incumbent carries out assigned phases of designated activity applying an understanding of the interest and needs of program participants.

Typical assignments may include: establishing schedules to ensure adequate cleaning and good order of the equipment and appearance of the facilities, applying rules and regulations in supervising assigned adults and youth in organized or self-directed fitness and athletic activities; setting up gymnasiums.

Demonstrates a practical working knowledge of procedures related to strength and cardiovascular training and instructs in the use of related equipment.

Conducts instructional classes in the fitness/athletic recreational area. Helps to plan and coordinate details of assigned recreational activities and maintains related supplies.

Assists in planning, scheduling, and publicizing various activities to attract and motivate participants.

Performs related administrative tasks such as preparing work orders for routine maintenance and purchase orders for supplies.

In the absence of superiors, exercises leadership of on-duty fitness staff members. May oversee sale of retail items or cash handling associated with activities.

Ensures adherence to safety rules and regulations. Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner.

Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards.

Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.

Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. Performs other related duties as assigned.
