Job Description

Summary

This job is for a lead lifeguard at a pool on a military base in Alabama, where you'll supervise other lifeguards, keep the pool running smoothly, and ensure swimmers stay safe by enforcing rules and performing rescues if needed.

It's a great fit for someone with lifeguarding experience who enjoys working with people, handling water safety tasks, and helping with swimming programs.

You'll also assist with training and keeping the area clean and hazard-free.

Key Requirements

  • American Red Cross Lifeguard certification or nationally recognized equivalent (e.g., Ellis & Associates)
  • American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification or equivalent
  • American Red Cross AED certification or equivalent
  • Experience in lifeguarding, including rescues and first aid administration
  • Knowledge of pool operations, including filtration systems, water chemistry, and testing
  • Ability to supervise lifeguards, schedule employees, and maintain logs and records
  • Experience assisting with swimming training, water survival programs, and coaching

This position is located at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Resumes must be two pages (or less).

A qualified candidate must possess the following certificates: American Red Cross "Lifeguard" certification or nationally recognized equivalent (i.e.

Ellis & Associates Lifeguard Certification).

American Red Cross "Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation for the Professional Rescuer" (CPR-Pro) certification or nationally recognized equivalent (i.e. Ellis & Associates (CPR) Certification).

American Red Cross "Automated External Defibrillator" (AED) certification or nationally recognized equivalent i.e. Ellis & Associates AED certification.

Experience MUST be clearly reflected on your Resume at the time of application to be considered. Major Duties:

  • Assist with the operation of the pool, oversees the work of assigned lifeguards and monitors compliance with facility policies. Assists with scheduling of employees. Maintains daily logs and records as required.
  • Assists with the operation of the pool, its filtration system, water balance, pool chemistry and performs water tests. Under direction of the pool supervisor, employ safety rules for the protection of the guest.
  • Responsible for life guarding guest in attendance at the assigned aquatic facility. Rescues swimmers and administers first aid as required. Issues towels and checks identification as required.
  • Responsible for assisting in the conduct of aquatic swimming and water survival training according to tC21-21. Assist in coaching or preparing the competitive and non-competitive swimming programs as required.
  • Attend aquatics and/or safety training as directed. Ensures maintaining pool and area is clean and free from any hazards. Provides information to swimmers regarding safety rules and procedures. Performs other duties assigned.
