About the position: This position will be assigned to Joint Base Charleston or Naval Weapons Station Base Pool. This is a Regular Part-Time position.
Regular Part-Time employees have regular/continuous work schedules of at least 20 hours to a max of 34 hours per week.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Qualifying Experience: **Required Certifications: Current Lifeguard Instructor/Training/CPR for the Professional (Title 22) and Standard First Aid by the American Red Cross (or equivalent) or completion of required certification within 30 days of appointment.
Proficient in lifesaving techniques, radio communications, and decisive emergency response. Ability to conduct and document pool chemical testing and adjust chemical imbalances.
Strong leadership and organizational skills to schedule, train, direct subordinate staff, and manage conflict.
Excellent customer service skills, cash handling experience, and the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Major Duties:
Lifeguard Leadership & Aquatics (Seasonal): Serves as Lead Pool Lifeguard during the pool operation season, directing a crew of three or more lifeguards, scheduling shifts, conducting in-service training, and evaluating performance.
Performs all active lifeguard duties: supervising patrons, enforcing safety rules, identifying hazards, performing rescues, and administering first aid/CPR.
Assumes command during emergencies and prepares incident reports. Maintains pool chemistry and environmental health standards. Tests chlorine/pH levels, logs results, and adjusts chemicals as directed.
Administers aquatic assessments, teaches swimming and water safety skills, and provides equipment orientations.
Acts as the primary liaison between the facility, security, medical departments, and the Aquatics Program Manager during emergencies.
Recreation & Facility Operations: Supports daily operations of the recreation center, including opening and closing facilities, monitoring patron activities, and recording attendance.
Assists with setting up, executing, and breaking down equipment for special events, group activities, and various tournaments.
Manages front desk operations: processing class registrations, booking facility reservations, checking out equipment, verifying IDs, collecting fees, and handling cash/making change.
Customer Service & Administration: Delivers world-class customer service, answering questions, resolving issues promptly, and escalating to management when necessary.
