Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team!

MCCS is a comprehensive program that supports and enhances the quality of life for Marines, their families, and others in the Marine Corps Community.

We offer a team oriented environment comprised of military personnel, civilian employees, contractors and volunteers who keep the organization functioning smoothly and effectively.

Six months experience in a related recreational activity preferred. Must have knowledge of basic cash handling procedures. Knowledge of business mathematics and routine procedures required.

Skill to demonstrate activities and use of related facility equipment. Skill to learn applicable MCCS policies and procedures.

This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance. Must be able to work weekend and holidays.

Major Duties:

Incumbent is assigned to Marina/Fishing Pier, Outdoor Recreation Equipment (OREC) Rental Facility. Remains close to customer service areas to answer phones and patron¿s questions.

Works as a cashier, takes reservations, receives receipts and reports moneys at the end of their shift; is responsible for cash drawer assigned to him/her.

Receives, counts, and verifies monies received with daily cash reports for accuracy. Checks for proper I.D. and patron eligibility.

Responsible for taking future picnic/camping area, Marina/OREC gear and boat reservations. Prepares the boat/recreational equipment reservation sheets.

Inspects the serviceability of all rental equipment for the storage area being rented and returned. Ensures rental gear is in proper working order.

Inventories all rental equipment, ensuring all patrons have paid and gear was returned in satisfactory condition. Ensures all information, i.e. flyers, price list, boat rules, bulletin boards, etc.

are current, available and neatly arranged. Performs and/or assists in the operation of the recreation activity.

Based on established policies, incumbent carries out assigned phases of designated activity applying an understanding of the interest and needs of program participants.

Typical assignments may include: establishing schedules of events; applying rules and regulations in supervising assigned youth participants in outdoor activities; scheduling and conducting tours; calling the weather service and posting information; ensuring the checking out and checking in of patrons using Marina/OREC equipment is done correctly.

Demonstrates procedures common to the activities, and instructs in the use of related equipment. Conducts instructional classes in the recreational area.

Helps to plan and coordinate details of recreational activities and maintains related supplies. Assists in planning, scheduling and publicizing various activities to attract and motivate participants.

May oversee sale of retail items associated with activities. Ensures adherence to safety rules and regulations. Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy.

Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise.

Adheres to safety regulations and standards.

Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.

Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.

Take directions and assignments from the Marina Manager or the OREC Manager. Performs other related duties as assigned.
