About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Bowling Facility at Wright-Patt AFB.

Responsible for the efficient operation of the bowling center pro shop to include professional on lane instructions to customers.

Drill bowling balls to meet precise hand specifications and customers' expectations matching ball selection to customer needs. Who May Apply: Open to everyone.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: Must have experience which provides a basic knowledge and understanding of bowling pro shop operations.

Preferred experience in the rules of bowling, merchandising and selling equipment and accessories, drilling, and on lane instruction (coaching).

Training in bowling ball fitting/drilling through the international bowling pro shop instructor association (IBSIA) and certified training through the United States bowling congress coaching certification coaching program is preferred.

Must have ability to operate a cash register. Must have the ability to communicate both orally and in writing and possess competent skills in dealing with the public.

Successful completion and favorable adjudication of applicable background investigation (Tier 1 Level) is required. Must be able to lift, stock, move and carry items up to 50 pounds.

Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Major Duties:

Responsible for the efficient operation of the bowling center pro shop to include professional on lane instructions to customers.

Drill bowling balls to meet precise hand specifications and customers' expectations matching ball selection to customer needs.

Sands and polishes balls, plugs and redrills balls, repairs lane damaged balls, and engraves balls as needed.

Displays and sells merchandise (included but not limited to balls, bags, shoes, shirts, bowler's aid accessories) in an attractive manner.

Establishes inventory levels for pro shop, and places orders as needed to maintain inventory levels agreed upon with supervisor.

Responsible for assisting customers with special order items and items not normally stocked. Receives and logs merchandise to be used in creating merchandise displays.

Ensures all sales are accurately processed at the control counter. Responsible for maintaining the pro shop in a neat, clean and orderly condition. Performs other duties as assigned.
