About the position: This is a NAF position with the 61st Force Support Squadron, located with LA Star Awards on Los Angeles Air Force Base, El Segundo, California. This position is considered Flexible.

The position is 0 hours, but has the potential to work up to 40 hours per week. As a flexible employee, you are not eligible for leave or benefits. Who May Apply: Open to everyone.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: Applicant must have cash handling experience. Knowledge of office automation software is required. Experience with Adobe design software is desired. Knowledge of office software.

Ability to read, write, spell, and figure basic math and measurements. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing. May work uncommon work schedule, including weekends.

Requires continuous standing, walking and stooping. Subject to metal and wood splinters, adhesives, cuts, and burns. Must be physically able to lift and carry items up to and including 50 pounds.

Condition(s) of Employment: Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical.

Successful completion and favorable adjudication of applicable background investigation (Tier 1 Level) is required.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Major Duties:

Assists assigned personnel in all areas of the Arts and Crafts Program.

Operates a variety of equipment in assigned area, to include computerized engravers, copiers, lettering machines, heat presses, mat cutters, choppers, and hand power tools.

Responsible for operating the cash register, collects money, makes change and issues receipts.

At the end of each shift, closes out the cash register, completes required paperwork and submits entire package to supervisor. Assists in monthly tracking for inventory and sales.

Assist in content creation to promote retail operation, program events, and classes. Assists customers in placing special orders. Maintains security of all merchandise, equipment and funds assigned.

Provides customer service, answers telephone, emails, and assists shop users with craft skill development and procedures.

With guidance from the supervisor, provides demonstrations and guidance on crafts. Maintains clean, neat and safe work area. Assists supervisor as requested. Performs other related duties as assigned.
