This position is located with the Aquatics Center on Fort Wainwright, Alaska. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid.

A qualified candidate must possess the following: Must be able to swim and participate in the lifeguard certifications. Major Duties:

  • This is a training position for a certified Lifeguard. Works under close supervision wherein the work is closely reviewed/monitored and detailed guidance provided.
  • Must participate in all required training (emergency rescue drills, emergency action plan simulations).
  • Mandatory certifications must be complete within 30 calendar days of employment.
  • Upon completion of mandatory certifications, the incumbent will be noncompetitively reassigned to Recreation Aid (Lifeguard), PD #3206, responsible for lifeguarding guest in attendance at an assigned aquatic facility.
