This job is for a recreation aid at an auto complex on a U.S.
Air Force base in Japan, where you'll help customers with vehicle rentals, maintenance scheduling, cash handling, and keeping the area clean and safe.
It's a flexible part-time role with no guaranteed hours, ideal for someone friendly and organized who enjoys customer-facing work in a military setting. A good fit would be a U.S.
citizen or legal resident with basic customer service skills and an interest in cars, even without prior experience.
About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and is located at the Auto Complex in the 35th Force Support Squadron, Misawa AB.
This is a Flexible category position; guaranteed 0 hours per week, but may work up to 40 hours a week (depending on the needs of the facility).

Qualifying Experience: Must have customer service experience. Ability to safeguard and handle cash. Knowledge of vehicle maintenance is highly desirable.
Applicant must have practical knowledge of recreational activities, rules, and procedures for which assigned; however, no experience is required.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English in a clear and understandable manner. Condition(s) of Employment: Must satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 background check. Major Duties:
Duties and Responsibilities: The incumbent is responsible for assisting other recreation assistants and specialists in the operations and maintenance of the Auto Complex.
Individuals is responsible for greeting customers in a courteous and professional manner, and assisting with any inquiries.
Operates a cash register and accomplishes cash handling reports and submits to Auto Complex. Opens/closes the shop safe, rings up sales, receives money, and makes change.
Responsible for scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, filing customer work orders, relaying car maintenance information from mechanic to customer, and inputting and assisting with monthly inventory.
Provides information on the rental van program as well as processing reservations.
Handles the checking in and out of rental vans and reports vehicles that are due for maintenance to the shop supervisor. Assigns stall to patrons.
Checks identification and ensures patrons are dressed appropriately prior to issuing a stall. Provides information on shop safety and procedures for waste removal.
Assists customers with car detail needs. Schedules and coordinates appointments with car detailer contractor. Assists customers with the POV Resale Lot registration.
Ensures Misawa AB required vehicle documents are correct before registering the vehicle. May assist shop foreman with ordering vehicle parts. Ensures area is maintained in a clean and safe condition.
Performs other related duties as assigned. May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays. To perform the duties of this position.
