Job Description
Summary
This job involves working as a lifeguard at indoor and outdoor pools on a U.S.
Army base in South Korea, where you'll monitor swimmers for safety, respond to emergencies, and help with swim lessons and pool maintenance.

Key Requirements
- Possess and maintain Lifeguarding and First Aid certification from American Red Cross or equivalent (e.g., Star Guard, YMCA, ELLIS)
- Hold American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer/AED or equivalent (e.g., American Heart Association CPR/AED)
- Provide maximum surveillance of pool areas and respond to emergencies, including rescues and first aid
- Assist in conducting aquatic swimming, water survival training (per ATP 7-22.01), and American Red Cross swim lessons as an aide
- Attend required aquatics and safety training sessions
- Maintain pool cleanliness, perform water tests, and enforce safety rules and procedures
- Adhere to customer service standards and work under the direction of the Aquatics Program Manager

A qualified candidate must possess the following: Possesses and maintains the following certifications: Lifeguarding and First Aid (American Red Cross or nationally recognized equivalent i.e.
Star Guard, YMCA, or ELLIS); American Red Cross "Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation for the Professional; CPR for the Professional Rescuer/AED or equivalent (American Heart Association CPR/AED); First Aid.
Major Duties:
- Serves as a lifeguard for indoor and outdoor pools and works under the direction of the Installation Aquatics Program Manager. Employs safety rules for the protection of the pool guests.
- Responsible for lifeguarding guests in attendance at the assigned aquatics facility. Provides maximum pool area surveillance and responds to emergencies; rescues pool patrons and administers first aid as required.
- Responsible for assisting in the conduct of aquatic swimming and water survival training according to ATP 7-22.01 as of October 2020 and assisting with American Red Cross swim lessons as an Aide.
- Attend aquatics and/or safety training as directed. Adheres to Customer Service standards of the Installation. Assists in maintaining pool, and area clean and free from any hazards.
- Performs periodic water tests and reports results to the pool leader on duty. Provides information to swimmers regarding safety/health/admission rules and procedures.
