About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Eglin Outdoor Recreation.

This is a NAF (Non-Appropriated Fund) position assigned to the 96th Force Support Squadron at Eglin AFB Florida.

Position is Flexible with no guaranteed hours but may be scheduled to work up to 40 hours per week and schedule tour of duty may include nights, weekends and holidays. Who May Apply: Open to everyone.

An applicant's eligibility will be determined based on eligibility claimed in the questionnaire and proof of eligibility MUST be provided with application by the closing date, 03/30/2026 Area of Consideration: To be considered, applicant must reside in the commuting area (100-mile radius) of Eglin AFB, Florida.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: Applicant must have experience which provides a working familiarity with the routines and procedures followed in group activities or programs; and practical knowledge and/or experience of recreational activities and equipment, rules and procedures in a recreation program activity which has involved recreation work.

Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 background investigation. Major Duties:

Continuously observes swimming area to ensure safety of patrons. Ensures the swimming area is open to patrons at scheduled times and only authorized persons are admitted to the area.

Rescues swimmers in trouble, promptly administers first aid, and calls for medical assistance if and when needed.

Warns swimmers of unsafe environmental or health conditions and recommends closing swimming areas until safe conditions prevail.

May operate water pumps and control chemical additives to ensure pool water meets specified standards.

Ensures that diving boards are inspected frequently for cracks or loose matting, and that necessary repairs are made.

May perform other related or incidental duties as assigned for the daily operation of the swimming area to include: cleaning of bath houses, wading pools, main pools, pool decks, beach areas, sunbathing areas, etc.
