Full Job Description

About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and is located at the Golf Course on RAF Lakenheath.

This position requires shift work to provide coverage on days, evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Scheduled hours will be 0-40 per week with no minimum guarantee.

This position is only open to applicants within the "Area of Consideration". Must be in the UK on PCS orders (military or civilian) or you must hold a current UK Work Visa.

Who May Apply: Open to everyone. Applicants will be categorized by preference(s) and/or priority consideration eligibilities.

An applicant's eligibility will be determined based on eligibility claimed in the questionnaire and proof of eligibility MUST be provided with application by the closing date, 04/16/2026 Citizens, permanent residents, and legal residents of the United States (US) who reside within the local commuting area (60-mile radius) of RAF Lakenheath, United Kingdom (UK), or will do so within the next 30 days.

Permanent and legal residents of the US must be citizens of a NATO country, unless authorized to reside in the UK as a dependent of an employee who serves in support of the US Visiting Forces.

Eligible applicants must possess a US-issued social security number and be able to provide documentation proving residency status in the UK. Applicants cannot be 'ordinarily resident'.

A person is considered to be 'ordinarily resident' if they have resided in the United Kingdom (UK) for more than 366 days without an affiliation to the US Visiting Forces.

Time spent in the UK as an employee, or dependent of an employee, of a US agency serving and supporting the US Visiting Forces (i.e., active duty military, federal civilian, AAFES, Red Cross, one of the contract universities, a military banking facility or federal credit union, or US government contractors) is not counted toward being 'ordinary resident'.

In accordance with the Status of Forces Agreement between the US and the UK, British citizens may not apply for US NAF positions; however, they may be eligible to apply for local national positions on base.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: Must be able to understand and follow oral and written instructions and be able to perform duties without constant supervision. Must possess skill in dealing with the public.

Must have a valid driver's license. Must successfully complete a physical examination and be able to lift and carry objects weighing 50 pounds or more.

May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty to include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must satisfactory complete a National Agency Check with Inguiries (NACI). Major Duties:

Checks in golfers, assigns tee times and maintains proper order of play using the computer tee booking program. Assists in the coordination and conduct of all scheduled tournaments and golf leagues.

May assist Golf Course staff in preparing for and running tournaments, clinics and other special events.

Assists customers with Pro-Shop purchases, to include advising on and recommending different golf equipment and apparel.

Records and maintains daily statistics on number of rounds played, weather conditions and other recordable data through the shop POS system.

Issues tee times and provides patrons with information on golf course events and activities. Monitors and observes on course pace of play.

Provides rules, information about the course, and offers assistance to golfers as needed or required. Issues cart keys to patrons after verifying payment.

Explains course safety rules and regulations to patrons. Cleans rental clubs and returns them to their assigned slot after each use, reporting any damage to management.

Issues rental clubs and pull carts after verifying payment. Monitors course activities and reports any infractions or problems to the General Manager or Superintendent.
