Full Job Description

The position serves as a Records and Information Management Specialist located in the Department of Justice; Justice Management Division; Management and Compliance Staff, Office of Records Management Policy (ORMP) in Washington, DC.

The ORMP is responsible for the development and implementation of a modern records management program for the paper and electronic records of the Department.

To qualify for the position of Records and Information Specialist, at GS-0308-13/14, you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below.

Specialize Experience: For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal Service, which includes: Maintaining and monitoring an integrated records management program; Conducting inventories and developing electronic file plans; and Preparing guidance on record keeping, training, and documentation requirements.

Specialize Experience: For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal Service, which includes: Devising strategies for implementing a records management program; Establishing goals for a records management program; AND Developing comprehensive plans for overseeing the execution of a records management program.

The duties and responsibilities for a Records and Information Management Specialist, GS-0308-13/14 generally include, but are not limited to, the following: Serves as a Lead Expert Records and Information Management Specialist.

Implements a modern records management program for the paper and electronic records of the Department. Develops policies, procedures and participates in long-range strategic planning.

Collaborates with DOJ component Records Managers and other Department offices. Develops comprehensive plans for implementing and overseeing execution of agency goals for a records management program.
