Job Description

Summary

This job involves analyzing and reporting on the readiness of naval units and systems to ensure the fleet is prepared for operations, including reviewing policies, managing reports, and advising leaders on improvements.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a READINESS REPORTING ANALYST in the READINESS & REPORTING BRANCH of COMMANDER US FLEET FORCES COMMAND.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience in sound project management principles, methods, and practices including developing schedules, estimating resources, defining milestones and deliverables, monitoring activities and evaluating accomplishments.

Experience using Navy tools to track the operational readiness of critical systems, conducting analysis to identify unit and group material readiness issues for immediate action and making direct contact with units and their TYCOMs to provide leadership on directed actions.

Broad knowledge of readiness reporting policies and doctrine with experience submitting monthly DRRS-S readiness reports and operational schedules in alignment with the Command Mission Essential Task List (METL) and resource requirements.

Experience reviewing and critiquing draft guidance from higher headquarters as well as subordinate Type Commander supplemental instructions and briefs to identify and recommend improvements to established policy and doctrine.

  • You will provide expert advice, guidance, and recommendations to management and outside organizations on maritime readiness operations and reporting.
  • You will act as primary review authority (PRA), manage the review and approval process ensuring compliance with current directives and make final recommendations for approval/disapproval.
  • You will review and provide critique of higher headquarters draft guidance as well as subordinate Type Commander supplemental guidance documents, instructions and briefs.
  • You will identify unit and group readiness reporting issues for immediate analysis to detect operational impact and fleet resource management concerns.
  • You will prepare operational readiness assessments and directly submit assessments to USFF Commander for review and concurrence.
  • You will provide feedback to TYCOMs for improvement.
