Base salary range: $37,764 - $49,094

About the Position: This Range Operations Technician position is located at Range Control Branch Training Support Systems with duty location of Ft. Johnson, LA.
This position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed 4 Years by a current permanent Army employee.

Current Department of Army Civilian Employees Applying on Time-Limited Assignments In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Specialized experience involves (l) eliminating safety hazards in work methods or environmental conditions; (2) implementing safety training or promotion within the arena of live fire facilities, maneuver areas, ranges, and impact areas; and (3) performing routine inspection and investigative work in enforcing occupational safety and health laws.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower level/grade position in the federal service GS-06.
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
