Job Description

Summary

This job involves inspecting health care facilities like hospitals and dental offices, as well as industrial sites, to ensure they follow rules for safely using radiation equipment.

KANAWHA COUNTY
1 VACANCY

This position is responsible for conducting complex technical and field inspection work in health care and industrial facilities to determine compliance with various state and federal laws, rules, and regulations. Duties include on-site surveys of mammography facilities, hospitals, physicians and dental offices as well as other health care and industrial settings that utilize radiation producing devices. This position also serves a role in the Radiologic Emergency Response Team.

Qualifications

Training: Associate degree from a regionally accredited college or university with a major in radiologic technology, nuclear medicine, chemistry, physics, chemical engineering or closely related scientific field.
Substitution: Possession of a current license issued by the West Virginia Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Technology Board of Examiners which was formally the West Virginia Board of Examiners of Radiologic Technologists may substitute for the associate degree; OR if licensed by another State, the ability to apply for a license issued by the West Virginia Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Technology Board of Examiners within six-months of employment.

Special Requirement: Must possess a valid driver's license at the time of hire and must maintain such for duration of employment.
