Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience which demonstrates experience in the daily operations of radiology systems and equipment such as Picture Archive and Communication System (PACS); providing training on radiology systems and other digital imaging equipment; and analyzing data and providing reports on radiology systems.

This definition of experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

OR Successfully completed a Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position.

(Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Specialized experience as described in A, but less than one year; and I have at least two years of graduate education as described in B, but less than the required three years.

I have computed the percentage of the requirements that I meet, and the total is at least 100% (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12.

Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Major Duties:

  • Responsible for day-to-day functional operation of the Picture Archive and Communication System (PACS) equipment.
  • Manage the PACS equipment inventory, network resources, configurations of workstations and the related digital imaging modalities and peripherals.
  • Manage all/any application associated with PACS (Peer Review/Dictation System/Terarecon/Radmetrics).
  • Schedule network backups and assign resources. Resolve network-related issues.
  • Prepare and conduct training classes for subspecialty clinicians on advanced imaging applications such as Ortho-Tools, and Advanced Visualization 3D Imaging.
  • Provide reports as needed by reviewing, analyzing, validating, and processing capability request documents for clinical systems that need to integrate into the tele radiology workflow solution.
