The Office of the Inspector General division of the WV Offices of the Insurance Commissioner is responsible for investigations of all types of insurance crimes including, but not limited to, fraud.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing the following duties:

  • Compilation of information in the form of written comprehensive reports while interpreting and analyzing findings based on data.
  • Organizing and presenting accurate information and facts in a logical sequence.
  • Determines criminal associations and patterns of criminal activity as they relate to insurance fraudulent schemes.
  • Evaluating information while selecting essential elements and correlating new information with existing information.
  • Performs telephone record analysis.
  • Prepares graphs, charts (link analysis, event flow analysis, activity charting, etc.), tables and other illustrative devices for visual presentation of data.
  • Conducts background research on criminals/suspected criminals that are under investigation.
  • Use of various research methods and techniques to compile information for reports and charts.
  • Preparation and creation of intelligence files, including but not limited to, their retainer, dissemination, and purges.
  • Develops and maintains communication with the intelligence community at Federal, State, County, and Municipal levels, insurance companies, and investigators.
  • Acts as a liaison between the intelligence community, insurance companies, and investigators.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
