Clarks Summit State Hospital provides adult hospital-based inpatient psychiatric services and is looking for a Performance Improvement-Risk Management Specialist to conduct timely, objective, thorough, and credible patient abuse investigations as well as patient complaint and grievance investigations. Requirements

A key function of this position is to conduct the hospital's investigations related to alleged or suspected patient abuse and patient complaints and grievances.

This requires a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, critical thinking, organization, efficiency, objectivity, and timeliness.

You will be responsible for preparing ongoing reports, assisting with data collection, and analyzing facts to determine the course and scope of the investigation.

You will have the opportunity to educate and consult with hospital staff on issues of study design, statistical analysis, and data needs regarding patient abuse and grievance investigations.

Work also involves assisting hospital leadership in developing indicators and supportive data that can be utilized to measure the effectiveness of treatment of hospital consumers using the principles of recovery and tenets of bio-psychosocial rehabilitation, mental health treatment, and systems delivery, as it relates to court/commitment orders and investigations.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Work schedule may change based on operational needs.
  • Travel and overtime may be required.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of professional experience as a member of a multiple disciplinary treatment team in a public or private health care facility and a bachelor's degree; or
  • Two years of clinical experience in an human services agency, including one year of administrative, evaluative, or consultative experience in a health care program; and a bachelor's degree with major course work in social work, nursing, health care administration, behavioral sciences or a related field; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
