Base salary range: $147,649 - $221,900

This job involves inspecting public works projects like roads, sewers, and utilities to ensure they meet city standards and safety rules.
The role includes testing materials, measuring work, preparing reports, and sometimes handling complaints or snow removal.
It's a good fit for someone with technical experience in construction who enjoys hands-on fieldwork and attention to detail.
Computes volumes, takes measurements, records locations and connections, and makes final check upon completion of project.
Prepares and submits required inspection reports; measures, sketches and calculates project quantities; prepares and submits as-built drawings for review. Prepares final project acceptance documents.
Performs compaction tests. Collects samples of construction materials as necessary and delivers to laboratory for testing. Develops the necessary laboratory data for determining compaction.
Assists in bridge monitoring and inspection. Inspects foundry products and precast concrete products for compliance with plans and specifications. Prepares Material Acceptance Reports.
Inspects and tests concrete and asphalt aggregates. Takes samples of aggregate for laboratory testing. Checks proportions of dry mix, time and temperature, quality, weight, and stockpile.
Receives or collects core samples, and conducts laboratory tests and analyses of mixes for adherence to specifications.

This is an online examination and will require a computer. If you do not have access to a computer, please notify Civil Service so that one may be provided.
Computer reservations can also be made through your local, public library. Examination links with instructions will be emailed prior to 4:00 p.m.
Pacific Time on the start date and will expire at 4:00 p.m. on the due date as listed below. Keep in mind that the test link will be emailed from City of Spokane (info@governmentjobs.com).
