This job involves handling everyday office tasks like sorting and delivering mail, answering phones, assisting visitors, and managing records in a city public works department focused on right-of-way management.
It also includes light duties such as collecting fees, issuing permits, and picking up supplies.

Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience in order to meet the minimum requirements of the job.
One year of full-time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months.
One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university.

Knowledge of general office procedures.Knowledge of mailroom procedures and postal regulations.Knowledge of basic accounting skills.Skill in utilizing a personal computer and associated software programs (including postal and microfilm equipment).Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, clients, management, and the general public.Ability to learn building codes, policies, and ordinances.Ability to reference and interpret postal regulations and services.Ability to follow directions and work cooperatively with others.
