Job Description

Summary

This role involves leading all communication efforts for Utah's Office of Energy Development, including handling media relations, creating content for websites and social media, and developing strategies to promote energy projects and engage the public.

It also includes supervising a small team and preparing materials for leaders to explain complex energy topics simply.

Ideal candidates are experienced communicators who enjoy teamwork, multitasking, and making technical subjects accessible to everyday people.

Position: Public Information Officer
Location: Salt Lake City, Utah

Oversees all communications for the Utah Office of Energy Development. Responds to press inquiries and prepares press releases. Manages website and social media content. Designs communications materials and tracks performance metrics. Develops talking points and presentation materials for leadership. Promotes grant-funded energy projects. Develops and implements a communications strategy to support public outreach and engagement goals. Supervises the communications team, including a Graphic Designer and a Media Specialist.

Requirements

• Experience coordinating communications with executive offices or elected officials
• Proficiency with content management systems, social media tools, and analytics platforms
