Job Description

Summary

This job involves creating multimedia content, planning communications, and advising leaders on how to interact with the public for the Military Sealift Command in Europe and Africa.

You'll help coordinate media interviews, cover operations, and solve communication challenges to promote the command's activities.

It's a good fit for someone with experience in public relations or media who enjoys working in a military support environment and can handle fast-paced, advisory roles.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a Public Affairs Specialist in the Public Affairs Office of the Military Sealift Command EURAF, MSCEUR.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Developing audio, visual, and multi-media products to meet the information and communication needs of the command and it's audience and; 2) Gathering data and providing relevant information that support the development of communication plans and; 3) Providing public affairs and communication counsel to leadership and staff, senior and subordinate commands, and others as required to guide interactions between command and it's publics.

  • You will organize and coordinate prints and broadcast media interviews with staff members and MSC ship crews.
  • You will advise field representatives and others on handling problems and incidents related to the command programs.
  • You will provide coverage of MSC assets supporting exercise and operational assets in the area of operation.
  • You will make recommendation for stimulating interests in the command activities and structuring of some of its programs.
  • You will select the approaches and methods to be used in completing assignments and resolving problems and/or conflicts that arise.
