About the Position: This position is located at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital on Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

This is a Direct Hire Solicitation A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting initial assessments such as intakes and mental status evaluations for inpatients; providing education and/or counseling to both groups and individuals requiring mental health services; and maintaining client medical records.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Major Duties:

  • Performs a variety of technical, clinical, and administrative duties to support the unit.
  • Assists professional staff with providing direct and indirect care to psychiatric inpatients.
  • Performs intake and ongoing mental status evaluations for inpatients clients to help determine the mental, emotional, and or behavioral needs.
  • Sets safety as number 1 priority of the unit (no contraband, not leaving unit without team knowing, monitors patient care areas for items that may be potential weapons, etc.)
  • Runs group therapeutic sessions on various Behavioral Health topics.
