This job is for a Psychiatric Aide at Danville State Hospital, where you'll help care for people with serious mental health issues and substance abuse by assisting with daily activities, monitoring their well-being, and responding to emergencies under a nurse's guidance.
It's a hands-on role on the evening shift that involves working weekends and holidays to support vulnerable patients in a hospital setting.
A good fit would be someone compassionate, reliable, and eager to make a positive impact, even if starting with basic experience in caregiving.

In this position, you will deliver direct consumer care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
Your duties will include reporting consumer responses to interventions, assisting and instructing consumers in activities of daily living, and performing activities of daily living if consumers are unable.
You will also report changes in consumers’ conditions to the Registered Nurse.
As an aide, you will assist with mobility, transport consumers, monitor consumers during activities, and assist with consumer identification.
You can expect to provide nursing care that may require special levels of observation and the therapeutic use of physical restraint.
Your work will also involve responding to psychiatric and medical emergencies.
Additionally, you will participate in ongoing training, maintain confidentiality of consumer information, and interact positively and constructively with consumers’ families and fellow staff.
