Base salary range: $62,107 - $80,737

Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves advising on the management, acquisition, and disposal of excess government property, especially aircraft and firefighting equipment, for federal programs in California and Hawaii.

This position is assigned to the Region 5 Forest Service, Fire and Aviation Management unit.
The Property Management Specialist serves as the principal advisor in all matters related to the Federal Excess Personal Property (FEPP) and Firefighter Property (FFP) programs for the State of California and Hawaii.

Specialized Experience Requirement: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service.
Specialized experience is defined as three or more of the following: Providing and applying technical and analytical knowledge in support of asset management program areas; and/or Providing expertise, advice, and direction on the complexities and special requirements for the acquisition, disposal, cannibalization, demilitarization, transfer, and scrap disposal of Federal Excess Personal Property (FEPP) aircraft and aircraft parts; and/or Monitoring the overall effectiveness of the assets under the organization's purview to ensure optimal operation; and/or Ensuring that all rural and wildland firefighting property items are used for the intended purpose and properly maintained and accounted for.
TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENT: If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled.
