Base salary range: $147,649 - $221,900

Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This role leads a team of health professionals who support child care providers by offering guidance on health, nutrition, mental well-being, and safe environments for young children.
The manager oversees the program's budget, goals, and partnerships while advocating for better policies at local and state levels.
It's ideal for someone with experience in public health leadership, a passion for child development, and skills in team supervision and community collaboration.

This Child Care Health Program Manager (Project/Program Manager IV) will join the Child Care Health Program as the primary leader of a multidisciplinary work team.
This position will supervise a team of public health nurses, nutritionist, mental health consultants, and educator consultants who provide childcare health consultation in our community.
Childcare health consultation aims to strengthen the knowledge and skills of the early learning community through mentoring, trainings, and policy development.
Consultation promotes the health and development of children, staff, and families and to ensure a healthy and safe environment for children to grow and learn.
Our consultants promote emotionally supportive care through trauma informed mentoring and early identification and referral for children with special health and developmental needs.
The Child Care Health Program's core focus is to advocate for children's health, emotional well-being, safety and quality of care through ongoing relationships with our child care and early learning providers, as well as partnerships and policy development at the state and local levels.
Consultation may result in changes in center policies and practices, increases in skill level and confidence of teachers, and improved health and social and emotional well-being for the children they care for.The position is also responsible for determining the program budget and scope and will monitor the financial impact and program goals and deliverables, advocate for system development and policy change ,and provide technical assistance and supervision to the multidisciplinary team.
The position will participate in Seattle & King County child care community groups and coalitions that address the health and developmental needs of children in child care settings and will establish and maintain relationships with key community leaders, including elected officials.

Work Schedule
This full-time career service position is exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not overtime eligible.
The work week is normally Monday through Friday with some evening and weekend work required to meet work demand and may be required to work outside of these hours and may include Saturday hours.
Remote and Onsite Work
The Child Care Health Program team works in a hybrid model, with days in the office as well as telecommuting. The ratio of remote to onsite work will be dependent on business needs and is subject to change. The primary onsite location is Chinook Building - 401 5th Ave. Seattle, WA 98104.
Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
King County has a robust collection of tools and resources to support working remotely.

Employees will be provided with a County-issued laptop and must maintain a home workspace with an internet connection where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours.
Provide project management and leadership in the design, development, and implementation of Public Health's Child Care Health Consultation program, including systems development and continuous improvement.
Develop and implement short and long-term objectives; ensure deliverables and services meet deadlines.
