About the Position: This position reports to the office of the Designated Institutional Official (DIO)/Director of Medical Education (DME), or designee, and is responsible for administrative and operational support duties required for compliant, effective, and successful Graduate Medical Education (GME) Programs.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience with data management and reporting, coordinating schedules and evaluations, and managing program logistics such as on-boarding, budgets, and contracts.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12.

Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Attention to Detail Customer Service Decision Making Flexibility Integrity/Honesty Interpersonal Skills Learning Reading Comprehension Reasoning Self-Management Stress Tolerance Teamwork Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).

Major Duties:

  • Ensure GME programs comply with ACGME requirements by analyzing content and developing strategic plans.
  • Manage operational and administrative support for GME programs, including coordinating rotations and travel.
  • Develop narrative and statistical information for program directors using residency management software.
  • Determine GME program resource requirements, including estimates for travel, contracts, and supplies.
  • Represent program directors at meetings to discuss and recommend program modifications.
  • Compose correspondence, reports, and course materials while maintaining accurate trainee records.
  • Interpret regulations and policies to ensure efficient resource use and maintain course quality.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to GMEC audits and recommends corrective actions based on results.
