This job involves supporting victims and witnesses in military court cases by providing training, tracking compliance with assistance programs, and helping coordinate their involvement in legal proceedings.
It requires interacting directly with victims to explain their rights and processes in a supportive way.
A good fit would be someone with experience in victim services, legal support, or program management, especially in government or military settings, who is organized and empathetic.
You will serve as a Program Specialist (Victim and Witness Assistance Program) in the Office of Special Trial Counsel, (Region West) office located in San Diego, CA.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate performing duties such as: 1) Understand, provide training on, and supervise the implementation of all aspects of Victim-Witness Assistance Program Policies or equivalent civilian sector Victim-Witness policies or legislation; 2) Serve as sole point of contact for the Regional Special Trial Counsel for tracking regional compliance with Victim-Witness Assistance Program requirements or equivalent civilian sector Victim-Witness policies or legislation; 3) directly interact with crime victims to explain the court-martial process, case timelines, and their rights under Victim-Witness Assistance Program policies or equivalent civilian sector Victim-Witness policies or legislation.
