This job involves supporting the administrative side of healthcare programs at a VA medical center in Orlando, Florida, by collecting and analyzing data, preparing reports, and helping plan projects and meetings.

Full Job Description

These positions function as Program Specialists, within the Specialty Care Service at the Orlando VA Medical Center, providing staff support to the Administrative Officer in analyzing, coordinating, procuring, and monitoring operation programs, data collection and reports.

To qualify for this position at the GS-9 grade level, applicants must meet at least one of the following: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: At least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-7) in the Federal Service, that is directly related to the work of the position and has equipped me with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties as a Program Specialist.

Qualifying specialized experience includes applying analytical and evaluative techniques to identify, consider and resolve issues/problems of a procedural or factual nature in administrative operations; utilizing various computer programs/software to obtain information; organizing/extracting data, and creating reports; creating and drafting presentations; and communicating/working with individuals with varied backgrounds.

NOTE: Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hours worked per week.

-OR- EDUCATION: Successfully completed two (2) years of progressively higher-level graduate education or master's or equivalent graduate degree or LL.B.

or J.D., in a related field of the position to be filled.

Education at the graduate level must have been obtained in an accredited college or university and must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position.

Major Duties:

***THESE ARE NOT A VIRTUAL POSITIONS, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION*** Duties include but are not limited to the following: Collects, compiles, and analyzes data and statistical information in support of the organization's program operation Assists in the planning, review, and reporting of statistical results of program/project studies Establishes protocols for incoming data, organizes computerized data sets, develops report criteria, and retrieves data Evaluates documents, reports, and/or applications for omissions and inconsistencies and ensures data entry is complete and accurate Identifies systemic difficulties and corrects them Maintains automated systems of program-specific data to track suspense's on items such as milestones, progress reports, funding, compliance, etc.

Monitors metrics for several VA specific measures Plans and/or accomplishes special projects Conducts extensive research and compilation of data from diverse sources Prepares strategic plan and succession plan annually Participates in various conferences and meetings at facility and sites and is responsible for all program planning logistics (including location, contracting for space, logistical support, audio visual support, and oversight/management) Works with members of the health care team, Point of Service Contacts, Patient Advocate, Customer Service Council, and patients and their families to ensure that services are easily obtained and meet customer requirements Develops related administrative regulations that govern the allocation and distribution of personnel, supplies, equipment and other resources Performs all other duties as assigned Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm Recruitment & Relocation Incentives: Not Authorized Critical Skills Incentive (CSI): Not Approved
